Student work showcase June 10th, 2024

4-6pm at camp paradise in beverly

come view and celebrate the work of local students learning about wildlife

free and Open to all people of all ages

44 Cole Street, Beverly

At Kestrel, we value all our young scientists and their discoveries, and we mentor them to create original work that is valuable to the wider community. Many of the students in our school programs record their observations of the natural world, discuss and analyze their findings, and integrate them into creative pieces that will educate others about the natural history of their local wilds. While our youngest scientists make maps, field guides, and models, our older scientists often craft mini nature documentaries and websites. The Student Work Showcase is the day each year when we share all this beautiful work with you, with the help of the makers. Our outdoor skills students will also be present to demonstrate some of their skills in person for you. See the slideshow below for some sample visual projects from last year, and check the Conservation Club Projects page for some samples of longer term projects.

  • Student project work exhibits from around the North Shore

  • Wilderness Skills demonstrations

  • Campfire

  • Lots of delicious snacks

Park at either the Cole Street or the Foster Street entrance to Camp Paradise and walk up towards the lodge. Exhibits and events will be inside the lodge and around the fire ring. For safety reasons because people will be walking around the property, including young children, we are asking that people not drive up the road towards the lodge.

If parking at the entrances are full, park at the Garden School, 36 Foster Street, only at the lower lot. Follow the purple painted flower sign and turn right immediately into the lot, do not drive up hill. To get to Camp Paradise from the Garden School, either walk up Foster Street and turn into the dirt road on your right, or walk up the Garden School driveway to the big blue building, walk around the back, and follow the orange flags to our new walking trail to the Garden School through the woods. Note this will involve about 5-10 minutes walk on a rugged trail.
