Birding for Kids

Part of the Annual Cape Ann Winter Birding Weekend

Due to snow, the Cape Ann Winter Birding Weekend has been postponed until the weekend of February 27, 28 and March 1. The new date for this program is Saturday February 28.

This program is free and open to the public. To RSVP please call (978) 515-7177. If you happen to get the machine, please leave your your name, return phone number and the total number of registrants in your party. Join us for a kid-focused birding adventure at Halibut Point. During this program your child will learn the basics of birding. We'll start by practicing how to use binoculars. Then we'll set out to find, observe and identify a handful of winter birds. No previous experience is necessary. We provide the binoculars, or you can bring your own.

Bonus: After our program, head over to the Gloucester Elks for Eyes on Owls, a live owl presentation where you'll get an up-close-and-personal look at these amazing birds.
