Black Lives Matter
As our world moves through a critically important moment of global awakening, Kestrel states unequivocally that Black Lives Matter. We are committed to upholding the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter Global Network and to thinking deeply about how we can do better and how we can support our community in this work.
Children should be able to enjoy their education without fear of racial persecution. Furthermore, children have a right to thoughtful, equitable and culturally-responsive curriculums. Systemic racism presents obstacles in children's ability to have a voice in their education and the safety they need to learn and grow. This results in educational opportunities that differ greatly in terms of quality and accessibility.
We commit to prioritizing these rights and fighting this inequity in our work. We know we have a lot of work to do, and as an organization, we commit to reflecting and moving forward on incorporating anti racism into our organization’s priorities, trainings, and programs.
