Program Volunteers

Kestrel is looking for volunteers. If you are interested in connecting more people, more deeply with their local wilds and are available to volunteer, please give us a holler. We have lots of one-time events that could use support (for typically 2-3 hours), especially in spring and summer. These are very fun and mostly on the weekends. We also sometimes have more long-term program volunteer opportunities for our school, summer, and afterschool programs (typically weekdays).

Fundraising Committee Member

(meets monthly 1 hour virtually, plus individual project time)

We believe that all young people deserve the opportunity to explore natural spaces and participate in real scientific investigation, supporting their innate curiosity and connecting them to nature. We are seeking fundraising committee members that can help us continue to grow our ability to provide these opportunities to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Kestrel needs to meet our fundraising goals in order to do our work, and this requires a dedicated team of people.

Board Member

(meets monthly 1.5-2 hours virtually)

We are currently growing the Board of Directors. If you have a passion for what we do, the desire to shape a fast growing nonprofit, and the leadership skills to help get us there, please get in touch. The board is a small, working board that is in charge of tasks from running an online auction to managing budgets, volunteering at events, and supervising the pedagogy of our skilled teaching staff. While we have multiple board members with teaching and naturalist knowledge, this year we hope to expand the board to include members with the wide range of skills we need, particularly financial expertise or fundraising experience.
