Pricing for school programs

Prices include custom developed lesson plans, a teacher packet with lesson plan overview and background resources, and use of our equipment both during and after Kestrel programs.

Prices are per class group, meaning if, for example, you have 3 classes in your grade level, you should multiply the price below by 3.

Prices do not include transportation to your site. Schools generally arrange their own transportation. We choose sites close to your school and often they are within walking distance.

Price List (Please note that these are subsidized prices kept low by our general donation funds and program grants. They apply only to public schools. Independent schools and other groups, please contact us for pricing. We will work with you to ensure cost is not a barrier to participation.)

Field visit only, to a wild spot near your school that Kestrel staff will select, or you can choose one (up to 2.5 hours) - $200

Indoor visit only, at your school, minimum 2 classes if outside of Beverly - $150

Combination of one field visit (up to 2.5 hours) and one indoor visit (up to 1 hour) - $350

Logistics

Field sites are wild, publicly accessible places generally in your town. We use town lands, state land, and private conservation land with permission. We can select a site for you, or will visit a site you request.

We can currently take up to two school classes at a time, for a total of no more than 50 students at a time.

Kestrel provides 1-2 instructors per class on indoor programs, and an instructor:student ratio of at least 1:15 in the field whenever possible.

Timing is flexible. However, when possible, we prefer an hour for in class visits and 2 hours or 2.5 hours for field visits.
